Controller problems are one of the most common issues for console gamers. Stick drift on the PS5 DualSense and Xbox controllers, unresponsive triggers, sticky buttons and broken rumble motors can all ruin your gaming experience. PGD Pro — Prisma Gamepad Diagnostics — is a free Windows application that lets you test and diagnose every part of your controller quickly and accurately.
Detect stick drift before it ruins your game
The stick circularity test measures the full range of motion of both analog sticks. It detects dead zones, measures coverage percentage and identifies drift at rest (TMR) — the telltale sign of a worn or faulty potentiometer or Hall-effect sensor. If your character moves on its own or your aim won't stay still, PGD Pro shows you exactly how bad the drift is.
Test triggers, buttons, rumble and audio
Beyond the sticks, PGD Pro tests every input on your controller: the L2/R2 analog triggers with full-press detection, all face buttons, the D-pad, bumpers, stick clicks and the share/options buttons. The rumble test lets you fire the left and right haptic motors independently at three intensities. On PS4 DualShock 4 and PS5 DualSense controllers you can also test the built-in microphone, speaker and touchpad.
PS5 DualSense adaptive triggers
The PS5 DualSense introduced adaptive triggers with variable resistance and haptic feedback. PGD Pro includes a dedicated adaptive trigger test so you can verify the L2 and R2 resistance and feedback are working correctly — essential for both gamers and repair technicians.
Professional repair reports
For repair shops and resellers, PGD Pro generates a printable technical report with the controller serial number (read automatically via USB), a 14-point repair checklist, the type of repair performed, technician notes and the technician name. It's the fastest way to document a repair and give your customers proof that the controller has been fully tested.
Free, offline and no drivers required
PGD Pro is completely free and runs entirely offline on Windows 10 and Windows 11. It uses the native HID interface, so there are no drivers to install and no internet connection required. Just download, connect your controller via USB and start testing.
